How do I download a VPN for Android for free? ▾
Download the APK from this page and install it on Android 7.0 or later. You can try one built-in free HoneyVPN profile or import a compatible subscription.
Is registration required? ▾
No app account is needed to try the built-in free HoneyVPN profile. The optional HoneyVPN subscription service uses its own account in the @honeyvpnru_bot Telegram bot.
Which protocols are supported? ▾
HoneyProxyUtility imports compatible VLESS, Hysteria2, Shadowsocks and other supported profiles. Compatibility depends on the protocol, transport and server parameters. See the source repository for documented limits.
Does the VPN work on Windows? ▾
Yes. Download HoneyProxyUtility-Setup.exe and run the installer. The app works on Windows 10 and Windows 11 and supports the same protocols as the Android version.
What is Bypass Russia mode? ▾
A routing mode where Russian websites (.ru domains, Russian IPs, VK, Yandex) work directly without VPN, while all other traffic goes through the tunnel. This speeds up Russian services and reduces VPN server load.
Does the app collect my data? ▾
Profiles and settings are stored on your device. The app contacts VPN and subscription providers and HoneyVPN services needed for features such as the built-in free profile and update checks. If you choose to send a support report, technical data is sent to Honey support. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Can I add my own VPN provider? ▾
Yes. Go to the Import tab and paste a link like vmess://, vless://, ss://, hy2:// or a subscription URL. The app automatically detects the format and adds the servers. You can also scan a QR code.

Your selected VPN provider processes traffic and connection metadata needed to operate the connection. Data handling depends on that provider and is described in its policy.

Settings on your device

Profiles and settings are stored locally. Refreshing a subscription contacts the subscription provider, and connecting uses the selected VPN server.

Optional support reports

When you choose to send a technical report, its contents are sent to Honey support. Report contents, retention and deletion requests are explained in the Privacy Policy.

Android permissions

VpnService maintains the tunnel; notifications can show its status; Internet access loads profiles and connects to servers. Camera access is used when you choose to scan a QR code.
